Last day in LA/ travel day

 May 15th 2023 Day 8

It is officially the last day of our LA excursion and here is how we spent it. We first went our day by grabbing some breakfast at Alfreds which is this coffee shop that is close to my house. We chilled and ate and discussed what we wanted to accomplish for the day. In which we decided to get some exercise so we went to play tennis for almost an hour and a half. It was so much fun to be outside and get a sweat in, Camila and I have a lot of fun playing against each other. After this we decided to go to Venice and walk around on Abbot Kinney which is this road with a lot of shops. We wanted to find some more vintage shops to take some more videos for our documentary. It was a success and we got some more footage. We have around 110 videos worth of footage and we are planning to the documentary to be around 30-40 minutes, so we feel like we succeeded. It was an amazing week and I am really sad to leave especially since we learned so much and got to explore. Our flight is at 9:45pm and we have a red eye back to Boston so it is a long travel day ahead of us. I am sad to leave but excited for the next week to put this all together.

Day 4

May 11 2023, 6:30pm         Today was the day we met with Santiago Marcos who is our mentor. We got up around 8am and went and walked to grab some coffee to start our day. We had our meeting at 1pm, so we had some time before to relax and draft some questions that we were curious about to ask. Then we headed over to our meeting to a restaurant/cafe called Zinc. At Zinc we sat down and got to talk to Santiago about our project, what it entails and how we can make it the best. Camila and I talked a lot about our ideas and what we have been thinking it should look like. Santiago gave us a lot of really great advice and gave us some documentary recommendations to watch to get some creative ideas from. He also gave us a lot of little tips for the audio, soundtrack and how to draw the audience into the documentary. It provided us a lot of insight and a lot of inspiration for our documentary. Our meeting was very exciting and helpful for our project. Furthermore...

Editing

May 17th 2023     Today was a sufficient day of editing. Camila and I woke up up made some breakfast and then did some organizing and laundry. After we did some chores we proceeded to keep editing which was very fun and we made sure to be very tedious with every part as we want it to be excellent. We went through all the videos started putting them in, listening to the audios and seeing what fits together. After this we took a break made some dinner. We had some taco bowls which was really tasty. Then we got right back to editing for the rest of the night. And right before bed we watched a movie! Weekly reflection #2

May 21st, 2023      What a week it has been. To introduce you to this week I will give you a little rundown. We started this week by traveling from across the country from LA all the back to Boston. Camila and I took a red eye which kind of messed up our sleep schedule. The prior week we had learned been really busy so the both of us were ready to relax and focus on putting the documentary together. Besides starting our week with traveling it was time for us to get creative and get ideas for what we wanted to do. We had a lot of great content from the prior week from our interviews and filming different shots of LA.      This week we accomplished a lot. We finished the documentary in total which is amazing and really exciting. I learned this week how to make videos pleasing to the ears and eyes. To make the documentary engaging you have to crop all of the videos to edit out parts of the interview where the person talking maybe paused or said um. Cropp...
