Day 4

 May 11 2023, 6:30pm

Today was the day we met with Santiago Marcos who is our mentor. We got up around 8am and went and walked to grab some coffee to start our day. We had our meeting at 1pm, so we had some time before to relax and draft some questions that we were curious about to ask. Then we headed over to our meeting to a restaurant/cafe called Zinc. At Zinc we sat down and got to talk to Santiago about our project, what it entails and how we can make it the best. Camila and I talked a lot about our ideas and what we have been thinking it should look like. Santiago gave us a lot of really great advice and gave us some documentary recommendations to watch to get some creative ideas from. He also gave us a lot of little tips for the audio, soundtrack and how to draw the audience into the documentary. It provided us a lot of insight and a lot of inspiration for our documentary. Our meeting was very exciting and helpful for our project. Furthermore, after our meeting for the rest of the day we decided to go to multiple different thrift shops to see the differences and get more footage for the film. First we drove to Goodwill and there was a donation place which was great, Goodwill had a lot of clothes for a really good price. Then we went to buffalo exchange which is another thrift store, this one was also decently priced and had a lot of more curated options. Both of these thrift stores were sustainable as it is all clothing that was already used, thrifting is a great option to be sustainable. Overall it was another very busy and successful day, and I feel that we are gaining a lot of knowledge and information for our project!

Weekly reflection #2

May 21st, 2023      What a week it has been. To introduce you to this week I will give you a little rundown. We started this week by traveling from across the country from LA all the back to Boston. Camila and I took a red eye which kind of messed up our sleep schedule. The prior week we had learned been really busy so the both of us were ready to relax and focus on putting the documentary together. Besides starting our week with traveling it was time for us to get creative and get ideas for what we wanted to do. We had a lot of great content from the prior week from our interviews and filming different shots of LA.      This week we accomplished a lot. We finished the documentary in total which is amazing and really exciting. I learned this week how to make videos pleasing to the ears and eyes. To make the documentary engaging you have to crop all of the videos to edit out parts of the interview where the person talking maybe paused or said um. Cropping the interviews took a lot of t

Second to last day

May 22, 2023     On the second to last day of senior project it was Camila and I’s time to get everything completely done. Today was the day we finalized our documentary by doing all of the final editing, and creating the scripts for our voice overs. Today and tomorrow are the most crucial days because we want to go over everything to make sure that our product looks ready to go. It is really important that we go over every detail and keep making small little details. This is what we did today, we sat on our computers and rewatched over and over to check for mistakes. Also we made sure to fill out our time sheets and start working on our poster board to present at express fest. Today was a really busy day as we wanted to make sure everything was perfect.  Hours today: 10 Hours in total: 88.5

Last day

May 23, 2023     It is the final and last day of senior project. Camila and I have put a lot of work into this documentary and we now have the final product. We worked on doing our voice overs today which was exciting and putting it in gave the personal touch of what we thought as the creators. Our product has came out so well and we have learned so much throughout this project. I am really happy I chose to do this project and to learn and create what we created. It took a lot of time and effort but the final product really shows everything we did and learned. The experiences that I had are priceless and I am going to forever carry on everything that I did. It was really important to learn about the sustainable fashion industry and to be in adult like situations and professional settings. I walk away on the last day with a new mindset and adventures behind me. Also with an incredible 20 minute documentary that we made to show the world what we did these past two weeks of senior projec
