Interview with Drew House

 May 13th 7:30pm

Another day another interview for Camila and I. Today we woke up and had our interview at 11am, so we decided to again go get some coffee to start our morning. After that we got ready to go to the meeting, and in the car prepared some questions. Once we got to the cafe S.O.L which means strings of light, we met with Kyle Svendsen who is the director of product  of Drew House. Kyle has been in the fashion industry for many years and has worked previously with Jermey Scott, and American Apparel. He has had a lot of experience and was the perfect person for our documentary. Drew House is Justin Biebers company there clothing consists of shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, and anything else they feel like making.  Kyle gave us his insight on sustainability in the industry overall, and also within Drew House. Kyle provided us with so much new information and really changed our perspectives on our documentary. His experience really shows throughout the videos that we took and it was really fun to listen to him talk about everything that we have been interested in. After this meeting, we went to the Silverlake Flea Market to see where all the sustainability takes place. Pretty much everything at the Silverlake Flea Market is used and a its all small vendors. It’s a really cool unique place where you can find unique pieces of clothing for reasonable prices. Camila and I had a lot of fun walking around and checking it out, we both found some new pieces to add to our wardrobe. Furthermore to end the day we went to dinner and finished off the day with some much needed rest. Another great day on the west coast!

We had our meeting at 1pm, so we had some time before to relax and draft some questions that we were curious about to ask. Then we headed over to our meeting to a restaurant/cafe called Zinc. At Zinc we sat down and got to talk to Santiago about our project, what it entails and how we can make it the best. Camila and I talked a lot about our ideas and what we have been thinking it should look like. Santiago gave us a lot of really great advice and gave us some documentary recommendations to watch to get some creative ideas from. He also gave us a lot of little tips for the audio, soundtrack and how to draw the audience into the documentary. It provided us a lot of insight and a lot of inspiration for our documentary. Our meeting was very exciting and helpful for our project. Furthermore...

Weekly reflection #2

May 21st, 2023      What a week it has been. To introduce you to this week I will give you a little rundown. We started this week by traveling from across the country from LA all the back to Boston. Camila and I took a red eye which kind of messed up our sleep schedule. The prior week we had learned been really busy so the both of us were ready to relax and focus on putting the documentary together. Besides starting our week with traveling it was time for us to get creative and get ideas for what we wanted to do. We had a lot of great content from the prior week from our interviews and filming different shots of LA.      This week we accomplished a lot. We finished the documentary in total which is amazing and really exciting. I learned this week how to make videos pleasing to the ears and eyes. To make the documentary engaging you have to crop all of the videos to edit out parts of the interview where the person talking maybe paused or said um. Cropp...
